POSITION TITLE: SITE SUPERVISOR

Core Responsibilities: The Site Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Owner/Program Director in managing the childcare facility.

Experience Required: A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within a childcare setting is essential.

General Overview: The Site Supervisor will oversee the childcare and educational program at a single location, ensuring quality care, development, and instruction for children. This role includes coordinating curriculum and staff training, while also assisting the Program Director/Owner as required.

Compensation:

$27 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Management:

  • Identify and recommend staffing needs to the director/owner proactively.
  • Design and oversee a high-quality early childhood educational curriculum approved by the Director/Owner.
  • Facilitate weekly staff meetings and address urgent matters as they arise.
  • Provide monthly in-service training for staff, including classroom responsibilities and community training resources.
  • Uphold the overall objectives of the Child Care Center.
  • Organize and delegate cleaning and maintenance tasks among staff.
  • Conduct staff evaluations and documentation as necessary.
  • Ensure a structured daily schedule for all personnel.
  • Maintain a waitlist to achieve full enrollment through effective outreach.

Facility Maintenance:

  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and keep all certifications current.
  • Oversee maintenance of the facility and manage related documentation.
  • Adhere to Title 22, Title 5, and Health and Safety regulations consistently.

Classroom and Staff Duties:

  • Conduct educational sessions in a structured and nurturing environment.
  • Deliver curriculum content while following established educational philosophies and methods.
  • Supervise and mentor teaching staff assigned to the classroom.
  • Assist new daycare staff with training and orientation.
  • Maintain organization of classroom materials and equipment.
  • Manage snack and supply inventory effectively.
  • Handle monthly billing processes in collaboration with the office.
  • Ensure all forms and notices are distributed appropriately.
  • Keep student files current and organized.
  • Monitor attendance and follow up on prolonged absences.
  • Step in for absent teachers when necessary.
  • Prepare lesson plans, progress reports, and report cards for students.
  • Conduct biannual parent conferences.
  • Integrate teacher-created materials into the curriculum regularly.
  • Attend and prepare for parent meetings and open houses.
  • Schedule weekly meetings with the program director and document discussions for staff meetings.
  • Be prepared to work additional hours as needed.
  • Manage responsibilities related to the CACFP Food Program.
  • Ensure compliance with CCTR and CSPP contracts, meeting deadlines and maintaining accurate records.
  • Plan annual events for staff and children.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications for Site Supervisor:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher, including 24 ECE/CD units with core courses, 6 units in administration, and 2 units in adult supervision.
  • A valid Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is mandatory.

Additional Considerations:

  • The Site Supervisor must be capable of performing light physical tasks and lifting children weighing between 14 to 30 pounds. The role requires bending, crouching, lifting, kneeling, and other light physical activities to address children's needs.
  • Maintaining composure under pressure and managing stress appropriately is essential for this position. The work environment is designed to be free from unpleasant conditions.
