POSITION TITLE: SITE SUPERVISOR

Core Responsibilities: The Site Supervisor plays a crucial role in supporting the Owner/Program Director in the management of the childcare facility.

Experience Required: A minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within a childcare setting is essential.

Role Summary: The Site Supervisor will oversee the operations of the childcare and developmental program at a single location; ensuring quality care, growth, and education for children enrolled in the program. This position includes coordinating curriculum development and staff training initiatives. The Site Supervisor will assist the Program Director/Owner as necessary.

Compensation:

$27 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

Staff Management:

  • Identify and recommend staff replacements to the director/owner proactively.
  • Design and oversee a high-quality early childhood educational curriculum approved by the Director/Owner.
  • Facilitate weekly staff meetings and address urgent matters as they arise.
  • Provide monthly in-service training for staff, including classroom responsibilities and external training resources.
  • Uphold the overarching goals and objectives of the Child Care Center.
  • Organize staff duties related to the cleanliness and maintenance of the facility.
  • Conduct staff evaluations and documentation as needed.
  • Ensure daily operational schedules for all staff are maintained.
  • Manage an active waitlist to achieve full enrollment through effective outreach strategies.

Facility Maintenance:

  • Ensure compliance with licensing requirements and maintain all necessary certifications.
  • Oversee maintenance of the building and equipment, including record-keeping.
  • Adhere to Title 22, Title 5, and Health and Safety regulations consistently.

Classroom and Staff Duties:

  • Conduct classes in a structured and nurturing environment, fostering discipline with compassion.
  • Deliver curriculum subjects, utilizing appropriate methods and materials under the guidance of School Administration.
  • Supervise and mentor teaching staff assigned to the classroom.
  • Assist new daycare personnel with training and orientation.
  • Maintain organization within the classroom, including supplies and equipment.
  • Manage billing processes monthly in collaboration with the office.
  • Ensure all necessary forms and notices are distributed effectively.
  • Keep accurate attendance records for all children and follow up on absences.
  • Prepare lesson plans, progress reports, and report cards for children, sharing responsibilities with other trained teachers as needed.
  • Conduct biannual parent conferences to discuss child progress.
  • Incorporate teacher-created materials into the classroom regularly.
  • Attend and prepare for parent meetings and open houses.
  • Establish weekly meetings with the program director, documenting key information for staff meetings.
  • Be prepared to work additional hours when required.
  • Oversee compliance with food program management responsibilities.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are met daily with accurate documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate annual events for staff and children.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.
Qualifications:

Essential Qualifications for Site Supervisor:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher, including 24 ECE/CD units with core courses, 6 administration units, and 2 adult supervision units.
  • A current Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing is required.

Additional Considerations:

  • The Site Supervisor must be capable of performing light physical tasks and lifting children weighing between 14 to 30 pounds. The role requires bending, crouching, lifting, kneeling, and other light physical activities to meet the needs of the children.
  • Maintaining composure under pressure and managing stress in a professional manner is essential.
