What's the job?

The Human Resources Coordinator provides day to day data and payroll support to the Shared Services Human Resources team, which is the central services corporate support team. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the incumbent is responsible for supporting HR Managers and HR Generalists with HR related administrative and coordinator duties. Critical to this role is the ability to be accurate and effective when handling and inputting employee data into our HRIS, along with the ability to confidentially handle employee data and maintain electronic and paper employee files. The position will work cross-functionally and collaboratively within HR, Payroll, and Technical Support teams on a regular basis to input employee data, submit payroll, and troubleshoot employee questions. This role is key to the effectiveness of the Shared Services Human Resources team.

What will you do?

Payroll and Employee Data

  • Service as primary support for all payroll and data entry for employees within the scope supported by Shared Services HR team
  • Coordinate and handle all electronic filing maintenance and paper file transitions due to employee status changes
  • Handle all unemployment claims for the team in alignment with program processing
  • Complete employment verification letters as requested

New Hire Orientation

  • Facilitate on-site and virtual New Hire Orientation (NHO) on a semi-monthly basis, with backup support from HR Generalists as needed
  • Responsible for updating the NHO deck with new benefit details and company programs
  • Send NHO related employee communications and assist employees with follow-up questions and needs

What do you bring?

The HR Coordinator will need to be able to operate collaboratively and independently in a complex, fast-paced team in support of 900 regional shared services employees.

  • Bachelor's Degree Required
  • 1-3 years in Human Resources or other business related field is required
  • Prior HRIS and payroll experience is preferred
  • Experience in applying and following established procedures and work instructions to complete day to day responsibilities, which are generally well-defined and straight-forward, but require occasional deviations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating a high level of integrity and accuracy
  • Ability to handle high volume of work efficiently while meeting strict deadlines
  • Must have strong attention to detail and error prevention
  • Ability to develop and maintain a positive working relationship with others, including being courteous with others when requesting or transmitting information
  • Very good problem-solving skills, capable of sound decision making
  • Proven ability to work without frequent supervision
  • MS office suite experience
