The Human Resources Assistant performs a variety of clerical and administrative tasks within one or more functional areas of Human Resources. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILTIES: + Maintains contact with recruiting sources, posting available positions as needed. + Communicates with applicants in person or by phone to collect necessary information for consideration, conduct phone screens, update applicant records, and to notify applicants of status. + May conduct or arrange for any pre-employment testing or other processes, including reference and background checks. Also conducts random testing as required for current employees. + Follows-up with hiring managers and keeps detailed records on applicant status + Assists in development of Applicant Tracking System (ATS) processes and procedures. + Conducts exit interviews. + Participates in annual open enrollment efforts and benefits administration as needed + Responsible for administration of random testing program (quarterly). + Updates employment records and Human Resource Information System. + Responsible for ongoing audit of employee data such as EEO, workers compensation codes, etc., to assure ongoing accuracy. + Responsible for performance appraisal process including notification of due dates to management and follow up on delinquencies. + Compiles data from employment records and prepares reports. + Maintains and distributes current employee information, policies, procedures, and other communications. + Maintains confidentiality of Human Resource records and information. + Supports Human Resources department in special assignments and other duties as directed EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: + Associate's degree or greater in Human Resources/Business or two years of general human resource experience. + A combination of education and experience may be considered + Not-for-profit experience desired. + High level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and experience working with a database and report-writing tools. + Valid driver’s license and vehicle for travel.
