Title: Controls Engineer III (Tooling) Location: Merritt Island, Florida, 32953 Compensation: $60 - $65/hour About the Role: As a key member of our engineering team, the Controls Engineer III will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of automated production machinery. This position demands a deep understanding of control systems and automation across all phases, from design and implementation to troubleshooting and maintenance. Responsibilities: Design and implement control systems for production machinery, ensuring efficiency and safety in manufacturing processes. Oversee the entire lifecycle of control and automation machinery, including design, deployment, and maintenance. Provide rapid response to control-related production issues, acting as the primary problem solver. Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to develop and refine controls processes and standards. Lead the commissioning and validation of new equipment, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and operational needs. Support the production floor by troubleshooting and resolving real-time issues with automated systems. Qualifications: Extensive experience in controls engineering, particularly in manufacturing settings. Proficiency in PLC programming and troubleshooting, with expertise in Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell, Beckhoff, and robotic programming (e.g., Fanuc, KUKA). Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Controls, Automation Engineering, or a closely related field. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a role focused on the design, integration, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and tooling. Strong analytical skills with the ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. permanent resident, or legally authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred Skills: Familiarity with control systems standards such as IEC 61131, ANSI B11, NFPA 79, and RIA 15.06. Experience in high-level programming languages such as Python or C#. Proven ability in technical writing and delivering presentations.
