Zap’s sheared-flow-stabilized Z-pinch technology provides compelling fusion economics and requires orders of magnitude less capital than conventional approaches.

We’re looking for a motivated and curious Financial Analyst to support the growing team. With your keen eye for detail and exceptional analytical skills, you will support the company’s finance and accounting functions. This position will report to Zap’s Financial Planning Manager while also supporting Zap’s Accounting Manager. You will be a part of a tightly-knit Finance & Accounting team and use your talents to make a positive contribution, learn new skills, and support company growth.

Responsibilities: Partner with company leaders in establishing annual department and project level budgets, to include labor and non-labor components Analyze and maintain the financial forecasts through routine variance analysis and forecast updates Provide financial guidance and recommendation to budget owners and stakeholders Prepare financial reporting information in presentation and memo formats Lead the company’s fixed asset process, to include capital determination decisions and managing depreciation and amortization Maintain strong understanding of cost buildup of capital projects, providing financial support to project leads and ensuring accurate reporting of fixed assets and capital projects Work with procurement to validate purchase order cost and payment timing Support financial and accounting software implementations Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or related analytical field 5-8 years experience in similar roles Intermediate level skills with Excel Exceptional analytical skills Capable of managing large data sets, maintaining organization and data integrity Demonstrated application of financial analysis acumen and accounting principles in a corporate environments Excellent interpersonal (written and verbal) skills with proven ability to discuss technical information with non-technical audiences Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced organization Preferred Qualifications: Data modelling and visualization experience utilizing software such as PowerBI, Tableau, etc. Experience in a start-up environment Knowledge of accounting concepts and ability to read financial statements

This is a full-time onsite position located at our Everett, WA headquarters.
