About the Role

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:
  • Developing comprehensive financial summaries and engaging in business initiatives.
  • Collaborating on enterprise-wide projects, including acquisition integration and system enhancements.
  • Standardizing processes and reporting protocols to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Leading the transition to a new Oracle ERP system, ensuring innovation and standardization during this significant change.

Core Duties

As part of your role, you will:
  • Create and maintain accounting records, including general accounting and costing.
  • Prepare financial statements and management reports.
  • Compile and analyze financial data to prepare entries for general ledger accounts.
  • Oversee monthly close processes, reporting, and reconciliations.
  • Assist in implementing accounting and internal control policies.
  • Maintain the Chart of Accounts and financial reporting structure.
  • Analyze financial results against plans and provide insights.
  • Review various accounting transactions, including revenue and payroll entries.
  • Engage with internal and external auditors during audits.

Experience and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should have:
  • A solid understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a dynamic business environment, preferably in mid-large manufacturing.
  • At least 2 years of experience in cost accounting.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in financial modeling.
  • Familiarity with Tier 1 ERP systems, preferably Oracle or SAP.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Education

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field is preferred. A CPA designation is highly desirable but not mandatory. Candidates demonstrating equivalent knowledge and expertise through education and relevant experience will also be considered.
