Position Overview

As a Financial Systems Analyst Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing and refining automated financial systems including accounting, procurement, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Finance and Administration department in the selection and implementation of new ERP systems, ensuring alignment with accounting, procurement, and grants management requirements.
  • Oversee the administration and programming of financial systems, acting as a liaison with IT for technical issues.
  • Collaborate with vendors and IT personnel to identify, troubleshoot, and rectify system errors.
  • Plan and execute major installations and upgrades of financial and procurement systems.
  • Develop complex queries and reports to analyze financial data, utilizing SQL and other tools.
  • Identify and address system errors or variances, implementing process improvements as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with governmental accounting standards and regulations by customizing systems accordingly.
  • Mentor staff in the effective use of financial systems and assist in resolving complex system-related issues.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to optimize system functionality and meet their requirements.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent technical training.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in finance systems roles, with a focus on data management.
  • Experience in system analysis within a finance department, including report design and user support.
  • Two years of experience in process analysis or project management.

Skills and Knowledge
  • Strong understanding of finance/accounting systems and relational databases.
  • Proficient in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and internal controls.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration across departments.

Working Conditions
