Position Overview:

As a Financial Systems Functional Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to enhance and modify automated financial systems, including accounting, procurement, and inventory management. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Finance and Administration department in the selection and implementation of new ERP systems, ensuring alignment with accounting, procurement, and grants management needs.
  • Oversee the administration and programming of financial systems, acting as a liaison with IT for technical support. Collaborate with vendors and consultants to identify and resolve system issues.
  • Plan and execute major installations and upgrades for financial and procurement systems, establishing criteria for system design and quality standards.
  • Develop advanced financial queries and reports, utilizing SQL and other tools to analyze data and fulfill special requests.
  • Investigate and analyze system discrepancies, implementing process improvements to address technical challenges.
  • Update systems to comply with changes in accounting standards and regulations, designing new functionalities to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship to staff on accounting and procurement systems, assisting in the resolution of complex issues and delivering training.
  • Facilitate data integration between financial systems and external departments, optimizing system functionality based on stakeholder requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent technical training.
  • Five years of experience in an accounting or finance systems role, focusing on data and systems.
  • Experience in system analysis within a finance/accounting department, including query writing and user support.
  • Two years of process analysis or project management experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Understanding of finance/accounting systems and internal controls.
  • Familiarity with relational databases designed for financial data tracking.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive workplace and inspire team collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in writing documentation and training materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with ERP system selection and implementation, particularly in accounting and procurement.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft Financials and Trapeze software.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills to support decision-making in systems design.

Working Conditions:
Hybrid telework options are available, typically involving a mix of on-site and remote work. The role requires the use of office technology and may involve moving between different office locations.
