The role is based in Smyrna, Tennessee, working the third shift over a 6-week period. The contractor will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of automotive products, with a focus on interior plastic components. In addition to technical skills, the role requires strong customer communication abilities and experience in problem-solving and project management.Pay rate: $45-$50 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Welding Experience: Proficient in MIG, TIG, and spot welding, particularly in automotive applications.
  • Welding Quality Control: Oversee welding processes to ensure they meet automotive industry standards and quality requirements.
  • Body Stamping: Hands-on experience with automotive body stamping techniques.
  • Auto Quality Control: Skilled in performing detailed inspections and quality checks to ensure high standards.
  • Interior Plastic Assembly: Experience in assembling interior plastic components with attention to detail.
  • Communication: Strong ability to interact with clients and team members effectively.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick to identify and resolve issues that may arise during the project and Lead quality-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet all objectives. .
  • Leadership: Manage customer and supplier relationships, providing oversight and direction during safe launch activities.
  • Project Management: Experience in coordinating tasks and managing smaller project elements.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in welding and manufacturing processes to enhance product quality.
  • Client and Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with clients and suppliers to resolve issues, validate improvements, and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Audits and Inspections: Conduct thorough audits and inspections of welding processes, control plans, and product quality.
  • Industry Experience: Previous work in the auto industry is highly preferred.




Qualifications

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage complex projects and lead cross-functional teams.
  • 7-10 years of experience in Quality Engineering, with a focus on welding processes in the automotive industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of welding techniques, quality control standards, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in automotive body stamping techniques.
  • Background in auto quality control and inspections.
  • Experience in safe launch activities within the automotive industry.
  • Experience in assembling interior plastic components.
  • Strong communication skills for client and team interaction.
  • Ability to quickly identify and solve problems.
  • Experience in project management or coordinating tasks within a project.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
