Position Overview
The Technical Support Specialist plays a crucial role in providing assistance and guidance to automotive service professionals concerning vehicle upkeep, repairs, and maintenance. This position is dedicated to ensuring that support aligns with corporate values, profitability, and efficiency objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Offer technical support and guidance to dealership service staff regarding vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all inquiries and cases; utilize databases to identify similar issues; update existing records and finalize completed cases. Evaluate situations from the customer’s perspective and suggest solutions that prioritize customer satisfaction and brand integrity.
- Gather and relay feedback from service technicians about procedural improvements to various departments across North America. Collaborate with colleagues from different functions and regions to fulfill reporting obligations.
- Perform additional related tasks as required.
Qualifications
- A minimum of three years in the automotive industry, along with at least one year of relevant professional experience.
Skills Required
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes; proficient in utilizing technical service manuals and tools. Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheet software, and other computer applications to produce standard documents efficiently. Typing proficiency of 30 words per minute or higher.
Educational Background
- Associate's degree is preferred. Equivalent related coursework, seminars, and in-house training will also be considered. ASE Master Technician certification or equivalent is preferred.
