In this role, you will serve as both a technical and functional product manager for platform components that underpin PowerPlan's suite of products. You will collaborate closely with Development and Product teams, playing a crucial role in conducting customer discovery to gather requirements and provide recommendations for solutions that are essential for the future of PowerPlan.

We seek a proactive individual with a technical and development-oriented background who can operate tactically to drive requirements while also thinking strategically to position our software as an industry leader. This individual must be highly collaborative, capable of earning the trust of customers, peers, and internal stakeholders, and adept at managing ambiguity and frequently shifting priorities.

Our team is at the forefront of making this vision a reality by enhancing our products to be more robust, simpler, faster, and more intuitive, while also identifying opportunities to develop new valuable innovations for our customers. This strategic company initiative will provide visibility and interaction with senior leaders at PowerPlan.

Key Performance Objectives

1. Own the PowerPlan Platform for a set of solutions: Be the market advocate by acquiring a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of our platform, both technically and functionally, working to continually enhance it, and actively engaging in its success and the solutions it supports. Collaborate closely with the product management leadership team to establish and drive the strategy and vision for designated solutions. Clearly communicate and champion the vision of the PowerPlan solution to customers and other stakeholders. Develop and continuously update the roadmap for the suite of products and a prioritized backlog for development.

2. Develop and Communicate the Roadmap: Collaborate with the product management and development teams to deliver value-added solution enhancements, technical considerations, and key assumptions or risks to maintain a live, up-to-date roadmap and prioritized backlog that is highly visible to the team. A technical focus is essential to ensure the entire roadmap aligns with the business.

3. Effectively Collaborate with a Team: This role necessitates daily interaction, frequent communication, and iteration with on-site, remote, and off-shore team members to disseminate our platform capabilities to the individual solution and development teams served.

4. Active Engagement & Leadership: The work environment requires adaptability and a positive attitude to shift based on updated priorities with open communication. Identifying and communicating risks or roadmap changes early and often is crucial to delivering effective updates and presenting viable options to key stakeholders.

5. Earn the Trust of Customers and Experts: To succeed, you must understand the software functionality to a high degree and comprehend the market needs and the business value it generates for our customers. Demonstrate a strong aptitude for understanding complex problems, collaborating with industry experts, and distilling various market challenges into actionable solutions. Take an active role in customer discovery regarding new enhancements and solutions to drive requirements and develop products our customers will appreciate.

6. Coordinate new product initiatives and track progress of overall releases: Work closely with multi-regional development teams, including participation in scrum ceremonies such as backlog refinements, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Define and prioritize the user stories required to build the development backlog to achieve project milestones based on high-level customer requirements and release schedules.

7. Drive High Level Requirements and Feature Sets: Active listening is critical to understanding market challenges. Be able to translate these challenges into well-defined epics and feature sets that will enable our product and development teams to thrive. This is a vital step in owning the process of driving new products or enhancements from ideation to launch. Produce development-ready business requirements in support of each epic and collaborate with Technical Architects to validate business requirements from a technical perspective.

8. Obtain successful milestones: Ensure each milestone is achieved by continually refining product management's design and requirements gathering process.

9. Drive education and enablement throughout PowerPlan: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to communicate roadmaps and backlog items. Work with stakeholders to create and provide appropriate training and enablement to pre-sales, professional services, training, support, and marketing teams so they can effectively perform their functions for new features and products.
