Position Summary
The Sales Operations Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining positive, long-term relationships with current and future wholesale customers with an emphasis on coordinating service dispatch and billing processes. The ideal candidate will be a creative problem solver with a background in specialty coffee, including equipment knowledge, strong analytical skills, and a passion for providing superior customer service while driving sales and profitability. Additionally, this position provides valuable coordination between sales and support teams, roasting operations, and leadership through the oversight of sales proposals, KPI reporting, distribution agreements, etc. This position reports to the Director of Wholesale.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES 
Service Coordination
  • Oversee daily operations of the service department, acting as a liaison between Equator's account management team, third-party service providers, and clients
  • Maintain and update service and sales-related training materials, including CRM exploration and upgrades
  • Receive, dispatch, record, and bill equipment service requests for wholesale partners
  • Manage equipment purchases and billing in coordination with the Accounting Department
Wholesale Sales Operations
  • Manage Equator-owned equipment assets, inventory, and supply agreements
  • Assist in managing online ordering portals for existing wholesale accounts
  • Coordinate and manage the onboarding process for new wholesale accounts
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities with wholesale leadership
  • Assist the Wholesale Director in developing and improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Manage key vendor relationships and identify opportunities for cost savings and improved efficiencies
  • Manage standard wholesale price lists as well as customer exclusive price programs, partnering with finance to perform annual reviews
Customer Relationship Management
  • Work closely with the Account Management team to identify risks and opportunities with existing partnerships
  • Support business reviews for key accounts
  • Act as a liaison between the finance and account management teams
  • Manage sales and execution performance against quarterly and annual goals
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Undergraduate Degree, BS or BA is preferred
  • 4-6+ years of experience in retail sales management and/or account management
  • Experience in managing third-party distributor relationships preferred
  • Experience in effective customer management and selling to achieve objectives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently
  • Effective communication, presentation, follow-through, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills
  • Coffee equipment knowledge
  • Strong proficiency with productivity suites such as Microsoft Office, Google Docs, CRM, etc
  • Must be inspired by coffee and coffee preparation
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Location
  • This is a full-time position (40-45 hours per week). Hours and days of work are Monday through Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand, including on-call availability for service dispatch at least two weekends per month
  • 40%-50% of the work can be completed remotely. Flexibility will be needed to lead and participate in sales meetings, brand immersions, and other vendor and company-related needs at times 
  • Two to three days per week will be required in the headquarters office in San Anselmo, CA or at the Roastery in San Rafael, CA
