A new developing private asset lender is looking for an underwriter This company provides mortgage loans to those looking to invest and make profit off of residential real estate. This company found MAJOR success in today’s market and will continue to grow and build a footprint across the US.
The underwriter will be responsible for reviewing and assessing financial risk during mortgage loan application processes, recommending appropriate loan products and explaining detail/guidelines. You will verify assets and credit to issue final loan approval to borrowers. You will be responsible for qualitative data manipulation and putting together reports to staff overseas and providing support to business owners, stakeholders and the head credit officer.

Title: Mortgage Loan Underwriter
Location: Westport, CT (on-site 5 days)
Compensation: $85,000 to $95,000
Responsibilities:
- Completing and reviewing mortgage application paperwork for accuracy
- Analyzing applicant’s credit history and financial information to assess eligibility
- Answering inquiries and questions from lenders and brokers
- Escalating any applications that require managerial approval
- Establishing credit terms, pricing, and conditions during the application approval process
- Creating business relationships with brokers and customers
Qualifications:
- Bachelors in business or related field
- 5+ years in a similar role
- Real estate experience is preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Entrepreneurial oriented
