In this critical role as the Accounts Payable (AP) Clerk you are responsible for the accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, including vendor payments, expense reimbursements, and invoice reconciliation. This role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and proficiency in accounting software.

The AP Clerk will manage various accounting functions, such as data entry, reconciliation, vendor management, and expense report processing. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of accounting principles and the ability to work efficiently within accounting systems like Business Central and Coupa.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the position include the following:

  • Process and verify invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments.
  • Accurately input financial data into accounting systems, reconcile vendor accounts, and maintain comprehensive records.
  • Effectively manage vendor relationships, resolving payment discrepancies and maintaining accurate vendor information.
  • Process employee expense reimbursements in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Enter and classify freight invoices for payment, ensuring accurate coding and documentation.
  • Prepare and disburse payments to fishermen, tenders, and other vendors.
  • Leverage accounting software (Business Central, Coupa) to efficiently process transactions and generate reports.
  • Provide administrative support for direct marketing, home pack programs, and other departmental initiatives as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support team objectives and organizational goals.

  • Analytical & Problem-Solving: Analyze financial data to identify potential errors or discrepancies. Effectively resolve invoice and payment issues.

  • Communication: Effectively communicate with vendors, employees, and internal departments.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain high accuracy in data entry and processing.
  • Organizational Skills: Manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth operations.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • An associate degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or related field.
  • Experience with accounting software (preferably Business Central or Coupa) is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) required.

Work Environment and Schedule

This position is for our Seattle, WA corporate office. Open to hybrid (for right candidate), would require at least 3 days per week in office.

Physical Demands

While performing the essential function and job duties associated with the job, the employee is regularly required to sit, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Presentation and sharing of information should be handled in a direct, appropriate, and helpful manner. Maintains a reputation for honesty, confidentiality, reliability, and fairness. Salary Disclosure

The typical base pay range for this role is $23.68-$31.84 per hour. Individual base pay depends on numerous factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills.
