The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for providing exceptional hospitality and support for the entire Trek Travel staff by providing HR guidance and support around all aspects of employee relations, administering the activities relating to the company payroll, managing benefits, and performing internal audits when necessary.

The Human Resources Generalist must possess a wide variety of skills including communication, listening, organizational, and decision-making skills; advanced computer skills, including data entry, data processing, communication tools, and payroll and human resources software. Manage the payroll process for hourly, salaried, and seasonal employees; including reviewing and importing hours from time and attendance system, entering tax and direct deposit information, administering regulatory requirements such as garnishments, tax levies, and support orders, and other adjustments to pay, as necessary.
Implement and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency and consult with Human Resources Manager to improve payroll processes.
Evaluate and implement payroll system upgrades and changes.
Ensure compliance with State and Federal tax laws, and work with our third-party vendor for monthly/quarterly tax filings.
Administer the time and attendance policy and paid leave policy for all employees.
Performs internal payroll audits and recommends corrective action, as necessary.
Creates payroll reports on an as-needed basis.
Maintains paid time off records.

Administer all employee benefit programs including health insurance, ICHRA, dental, vision, and retirement plans, ensuring timely enrollments and terminations.
Presents benefits presentations to ensure new employees have a full understanding of benefit plans and how to enroll.
Plans and administers annual open enrollment period consulting with our benefit brokers accordingly. This includes revision, preparation, and distribution of materials, conducting meetings to communicate changes to employees, and processing changes within deadlines.
Plans, conducts, and reports results of audits to ensure all enrollments are accurate, timely, and that dependent information is accurate for employees.
Work closely with the Finance department for quarterly and year end audits (payroll, Workers Comp, 401k, etc.)
Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes.

Manage the beginning to end onboarding process, ensuring an exceptional experience for new employees and a smooth start to their roles.
Hosting new hire onboarding sessions, coordinating onboarding presentations and product demos.
Manage the status change process and exit checklists.
Serving as the primary point of contact for hiring managers and newly hired employees.
Identifying innovative and creative new ways to onboard new employees/reach a more scalable and measurable onboarding experience.

Maintain and timely report payroll wages to Workers' Compensation policies in various States.
Respond to unemployment claims in a timely manner.
Assist in developing, and executing personnel policies, providing guidance and interpretation for business operations. In addition, suggest new policies to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and organization, and to improve employee experience.
Ensure legal compliance of HR state and federal regulations and applicable employment laws, and update policies as required.
Update and maintain employee handbook documents.
Prepares and maintains employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
Daily team correspondence via Microsoft Teams, email and scheduled weekly check-ins.
Project management as assigned.
Work alongside team members around the globe.
Cross departmental work and additional duties as required.

Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field required, and a minimum of two years of human resources, payroll and/or benefits experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Strong teamwork skills and the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks to others, as necessary.
Confidence in your problem-solving abilities, and the ability to exercise great judgement with decision-making in a timely manner.
Expert attention to detail, efficiency and works with a sense of urgency.
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Excellent communication skills – verbal & written.
Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and talent management systems.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite or related software.
Takes initiative to continuously improve processes.
