POSITION TITLE: MODs Application Engineer

REPORTS TO: VP/General Manager of Modernizations

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will be a staff modernization application engineering position responsible for interfacing primarily with the Konecranes organization to assist in creating modernization solutions for all standard and custom process cranes in Region Americas.

Individual will be responsible for providing technical cost analysis, product component and design machinery layout, vendor selection and formal estimate to the frontline service sales organization.

Specific duties include, but not limited to; frontline engineering support for technical modernization inquiries, material application, engineering analysis, review and interpret specifications requirements, provide pricing options for enhancing productivity and reliability of the equipment and proposal description preparation that reflect an understanding of the customer's core processes and return on investment.


EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.

EXPERIENCE: This position requires the skill set in effectiveness for engineering processes, advance communication and organization skills to handle multiple inquiries simultaneously. A qualified candidate should have technical experience for mechanical or electrical design knowledge relating to the overhead crane industry, should be able to process technical information and provide technical instructions. Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and AutoCAD experience is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication are a requirement for this position.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Travel estimated at 20% to visit customer locations to assist in application opportunities to verify condition and possible solutions pertaining to the customer modernization request.
