Career Opportunities: Specialized Product Application Engineer

Summary of Position

The role involves managing all tasks related to fulfilling Repeat SPARS (Special Product Application Requests). You will prioritize and advance commercialization activities while serving as a key liaison among various teams including customers, DSS, Technical Support, Customer Service, Engineering, Pricing, and Operations. Your goal is to ensure that special customer orders are processed efficiently and documented for future enhancements.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the entire SPAR process, ensuring all functional work is performed within the defined scope.
  • Provide regular updates on the status of special customer orders.
  • Collaborate closely with the production floor and work alongside Order Entry, Customer Service, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and Department Team Leads to achieve order fulfillment objectives.
  • Participate in production meetings to review all outstanding special orders as necessary.
  • Assist Profit Centers in prioritizing special customer orders and resolving scheduling conflicts.
  • Document and monitor recurring special orders, commercializing high-volume sequence strings.
  • Develop and analyze daily reports of approved expedites to ensure timely shipping commitments to customers. If a shipment is at risk of missing its deadline, coordinate with relevant teams to keep the customer informed.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are updated on upcoming complex or special orders and expedites.
  • Proactively identify potential issues that may affect on-time delivery and coordinate across multiple functions to resolve them.
  • Continuously assess and pinpoint opportunities for process improvements that enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensure that order modifications are executed on the production floor to align with customer specifications.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Experience with JDE is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, meet deadlines, and assess risks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in both small and global team environments.
  • Possess a proactive attitude and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.
  • Ability to interact with individuals from various disciplines and job functions.
  • Highly motivated and self-driven.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and conscientious.
