Automation Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this position, you will have the chance to assist in defining production processes to optimize cost, quality, and timely delivery of products. Daily, you will engage in sequence definition, cycle time calculations, and analysis of the operational phases of new production processes/products. You will also demonstrate your expertise by sharing cycle time data with internal teams. The work model for this role is: #LI-Onsite. This position contributes to the Motion Drive Products division in the New Berlin, WI area. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Automation - Support the deployment, installation, and programming of Vision Systems, SCADA, PLC Controls, Conveyor Automation, Digital Torque Systems, Robotics, and more.
• Mechanical - A foundational knowledge in mechanical engineering is required to assist with the installation of various automation equipment on the production line.
• Safety / Quality - Play a key role in establishing safe automation practices while ensuring desired productivity and quality outcomes.
• Project Management - This role will be dynamic and involve managing tasks from multiple projects concurrently. Effective time management and prioritization will be essential.
Qualifications for the role
- Associate's degree in Controls Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering/science field
- 4+ years of experience in Controls, Systems, and/or Automation
- Strong knowledge of Vision systems, digital torque systems, programmable logic controls, robotics, and other automation technologies
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Concepts
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, self-motivated, customer-oriented, capable of multitasking, and managing stress effectively
- Candidates must possess work authorization that allows them to work for ABB in the US.
