Position Overview:
The role of the Specialized Product Application Engineer involves overseeing all aspects related to the fulfillment of Repeat SPARS (Special Product Application Requests). This position is crucial in driving the commercialization efforts associated with these requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume full ownership of the SPAR process, executing necessary functional tasks within the defined scope.
- Provide regular updates regarding the status of special customer orders.
- Collaborate closely with the production floor, engaging with Order Entry, Customer Service, Operations, Sales, Supply Chain, and Department Team Leads to achieve order fulfillment objectives.
- Participate in production meetings to discuss all pending special orders as required.
- Assist Profit Centers in prioritizing special customer orders and resolving scheduling conflicts.
- Document and monitor recurring special orders, commercializing high-volume sequence strings.
- Generate and review daily reports of approved expedites to ensure timely shipping commitments to customers. In cases of potential delays, coordinate with relevant teams to keep customers informed.
- Ensure all stakeholders are updated on upcoming complex or special orders and expedites.
- Proactively identify potential variables that may affect on-time delivery and collaborate across various functions to address issues.
- Continuously assess and pinpoint opportunities for process enhancements that improve the customer experience.
- Ensure that order modifications are accurately processed on the production floor to meet customer specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite is essential.
- Experience with JDE is advantageous.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, meet deadlines, and assess risks effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on root cause analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work effectively in both small and global team environments.
- Possess a proactive attitude and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.
- Capable of interfacing with individuals from various disciplines and job functions.
- Highly motivated, self-driven, detail-oriented, organized, and conscientious.
