Job Overview

Position: Mechanical Engineer

Automationtechies is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the innovative design and development of automation and robotics solutions. This position entails the creation of intricate mechanical assemblies, development of precise 3D models, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced automation machinery, robotic systems, and material handling solutions.
  • Utilize SolidWorks to produce 3D models and comprehensive technical drawings.
  • Oversee the scope of mechanical design tasks on tailored projects, including supervising design efforts and validating engineering outputs.
  • Assist in fabrication, testing, and installation processes to ensure alignment with design and client requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance in automation engineering practices and equipment specifications.
  • Ensure project objectives are met, including budget, timeline, and performance metrics.
  • Support sales initiatives through design conceptualization, cost estimation, and proposal generation.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients while adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 10%, primarily within a 400-mile radius, with opportunities for international travel and occasional overnight stays.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology is required.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in 3D CAD design (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor) with an emphasis on automation systems.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology is preferred.
  • Experience in mechanical engineering related to automation is advantageous.
  • Strong foundation in precision machine design and actuator specifications.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly processes, including machining and welding.
  • Preferred experience in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Experience in fixed automation or robotic assembly system design is a plus.
  • Ability to collaborate within cross-functional teams and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Capable of mentoring interns and collaborating with fellow engineers.
  • Experience in developing drawing packages, electronic bills of materials, and engineering change orders.
