Key Responsibilities
- Develop sophisticated automation machinery, robotic systems, and material handling solutions.
- Utilize SolidWorks to produce 3D models and comprehensive technical drawings.
- Oversee the mechanical design scope for tailored projects, including project supervision and design validation.
- Assist in fabrication, testing, and installation processes to guarantee adherence to design and client requirements.
- Offer technical guidance in automation and equipment engineering methodologies.
- Fulfill project obligations regarding budget, timeline, and performance metrics.
- Support sales efforts through design conceptualization, cost estimation, and proposal preparation.
- Foster positive client relationships while adhering to safety protocols.
- Travel requirements are approximately 10%, generally within a 400-mile radius, with possibilities for international travel and occasional overnight assignments.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology is mandatory.
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in 3D CAD design (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD Inventor) with an emphasis on automation systems.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology is preferred.
- Experience in mechanical engineering within the automation sector is advantageous.
- Strong foundation in precision machine design and actuator specifications (pneumatic/electric).
- Familiarity with manufacturing and assembly techniques (machining, welding, etc.).
- Preferred experience in project management methodologies and tools.
- Background in fixed automation or robotic assembly system design is beneficial.
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams and manage competing priorities.
- Capable of mentoring interns and collaborating with fellow engineers.
- Experience in creating drawing packages, electronic bills of materials, and engineering change orders.
