POSITION TITLE: Mechanical Project Engineer
REPORTS TO: Lead Mechanical Project Engineer

Principal Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for all mechanical and structural design tasks essential for the modification and modernization of electric overhead cranes within the Americas region.
Oversee the Product Lines – Legacy EOT and Portal Cranes.Analyze order documentation, including detailed customer specifications, to define the scope of work and project plan.Conduct research in company archives to locate records of legacy equipment, demonstrating proficiency in interpreting mechanical and structural drawings.Execute engineering tasks following established protocols. Develop equipment layouts and perform necessary mechanical and structural calculations to validate designs, culminating in final mechanical and structural designs.Generate detailed, sub-assembly, assembly, and installation drawings to fulfill order requirements.Draft comprehensive work instructions to facilitate field installation.Manage project planning, scheduling, design execution, and adherence to budget and timeline from inquiry through to start-up.
EDUCATION: A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 5 years of experience with overhead electric cranes or comparable industrial equipment is preferred. A PE license or the ability to obtain licensure is advantageous. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of machine design and structural engineering practices. Experience in the overhead material handling sector is highly desirable. Familiarity with industry standards, including CMAA and ASME B30, is a plus. Knowledge of welding and machining processes is required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for this position. Proficiency in SAP, AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Microsoft Office is necessary. The ability to effectively communicate with frontline sales, customers, application engineers, and project management is crucial. Site visits for application and commissioning will require the capability to work at heights up to 100 feet. Travel is estimated at 5% to engage with customers, commission equipment, and inspect products at various manufacturing sites, including both domestic and international travel.
