Job Description

The District is seeking to fill one (1) confidential role of Human Resources Support Specialist within the Human Resources Office.

Key Responsibilities

Under general supervision, you will provide technical and administrative assistance in various Human Resources functions, including:

  • Administering employee benefits, health insurance plans, retirement options, and leave management.
  • Processing personnel actions, payroll documentation, and benefits within the District's Human Resources Information Systems or other software applications.
  • Advising employees on general benefits and payroll inquiries, and liaising with third-party administrators and vendors to resolve issues.
  • Conducting orientations for new employees and offboarding processes, providing essential information regarding District programs and policies.
  • Maintaining and updating personnel files, procedures, forms, and records.
  • Preparing various special and periodic reports.
  • Staying informed about District policies, procedures, and relevant laws, updating information as necessary.
  • Assisting in coordinating human resources projects and programs, including recruitment, classification, compensation, training, and wellness initiatives.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

A typical pathway to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills includes:

Human Resources Support Specialist I:
Equivalent to three years of general clerical or office assistant experience.

Human Resources Support Specialist II:
In addition to the above, one year of experience in personnel support work. Completion of some college-level coursework in public personnel administration is preferred.
