Vice President of Sales

Role:

*Ideally from a SCADA/automation/Oil and gas engineering background*


The Vice President of Sales is responsible for overseeing the sales operations of the company, aiming to achieve financial targets and enhance customer satisfaction. This role requires a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving growth in similar or larger organizations, while upholding high-quality standards. The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication skills and be a strong team player. This position reports directly to the President of the company.


Responsibilities:

As an Individual Contributor:

  • Gain comprehensive knowledge of the company's offerings, including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  • Develop and execute the go-to-market strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with the operations team to gather customer feedback and anticipate future resource and skillset needs.
  • Identify potential new clients through various methods such as cold-calling, networking, and industry events.
  • Promote the company's credibility through strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Represent the company at various external and internal events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendor partners.
  • Strengthen relationships with high-level personnel (Directors and above) within customer organizations.
  • Work closely with partner managers to position the company as a valuable technical partner.
  • Utilize industry insights and client challenges to create compelling value propositions.
  • Present the company's services to potential customers and convert leads into contracts.
  • Ensure alignment of sales decisions with the company's business strategy.
  • Oversee the preparation and delivery of proposals, ensuring high quality and timely submission.
  • Review and negotiate legal agreements to qualify the company for new business opportunities.
  • Facilitate onboarding of new customers.
  • Transition successful projects to the operations team.
  • Collaborate with the President to set and achieve both quantitative and qualitative goals.
  • Participate in regular review meetings to assess progress toward goals.


As a Sales Team Leader:

  • Recruit additional sales personnel as needed.
  • Provide guidance and evaluate the performance of the sales team.
  • Establish and communicate the strategic direction of the sales organization, ensuring clarity of company values and objectives.
  • Create and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to enhance sales performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Annually review and adjust the sales incentive program to encourage desirable behaviors.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and adjust the sales approach accordingly, sharing insights with the operations team.
  • Address and resolve unexpected challenges.



Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 15 years of experience with increasing responsibilities, including managing teams, budgets, and strategic plans for organizations with 30+ employees.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow a business using an innovative, entrepreneurial approach.
  • In-depth understanding of industry trends, client challenges, and operational technologies, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts simply and effectively.
  • Eagerness to learn about the company and its clients' businesses.
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure and think on your feet.
  • Proven track record of building long-term customer relationships.
  • Commitment to supporting the company's vision through daily activities.
  • Capable of fulfilling both leadership and support roles within the organization.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Proficiency in English for communication and conducting meetings.
  • Technologically proficient, with a basic understanding of enterprise SCADA and real-time data systems; hands-on experience is a plus.
  • Experience in companies providing information or operational technology services, especially in the oil and gas industry, is preferred.
