Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead a diverse team of engineers and technical staff.
  • Oversee a variety of complex projects within our design and EPC service offerings.
  • Ensure adherence to design quality, budget constraints, and project timelines.
  • Facilitate client engagement, proposal development, and business growth initiatives.

Key Duties:

  • Manage and develop project budgets, schedules, and quality standards across various engineering disciplines.
  • Directly handle project modifications in collaboration with the Client and Project Manager.
  • Evaluate engineering outputs and assignments, coordinating activities across multiple disciplines.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with project leaders, design teams, and support personnel.
  • Articulate client needs and objectives to project teams, ensuring these are integrated into project execution.
  • Assist in business development and strategic pursuits.
  • Travel may be required for site inspections, design evaluations, and client consultations.
  • Consistently apply knowledge in line with Sterling's quality assurance protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with client and industry standards throughout project lifecycles.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in managing underground transmission line projects within the EPC or design services sector for investor-owned utilities in the U.S.
  • Expertise in high voltage underground transmission line design, with a comprehensive understanding of project lifecycles and equipment specifications.
  • Familiarity with CYMCAP and Pole Planner software.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on client relationship development.
  • Advanced understanding of engineering design principles and relevant standards.
  • Knowledge of interdisciplinary project coordination, including procurement, subcontract management, permitting, and construction support.
  • Experience with the proposal process and engineering cost estimation.
  • P.E. License is highly desirable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional experience.
  • All candidates must be able to fulfill pre-employment onboarding requirements, which may include background checks and drug screening, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
