The Human Resources and Culture Specialist is essential in delivering administrative assistance, ensuring smooth operations within our greenhouse facilities, and supporting various HR functions. This role demands exceptional organizational abilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to greenhouse management on all matters related to personnel and organizational culture.
  • Act as a communication bridge between greenhouse operations and corporate management.
  • Provide support to employees across different business segments.
  • Address inquiries regarding company policies and assist in resolving employee relations matters.
  • Foster effective relationships with personnel at all levels; collaborate with hiring managers to enhance interview practices and guide them through the recruitment process.
  • Assist in the hiring process by posting job openings, reviewing applications, scheduling interviews, and managing candidate communications.
  • Facilitate the onboarding experience for new employees, guiding them through necessary processes and paperwork.
  • Maintain precise and current employee records, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant laws.
  • Update and manage employee information in the HR information system (HRIS) and other relevant platforms.
  • Support the administration of employee benefits, including enrollment and inquiries.
  • Assist in HR communications and announcements, both internally and externally.
  • Help prepare and distribute HR-related reports, such as headcount and training records.
  • Process changes in employee status in accordance with company policies.
  • Contribute to employee engagement and communication initiatives.
  • Manage workers' compensation documentation and follow up as needed.
  • Provide support during employee separations, including preparing necessary documentation.
  • Assist in organizing special events, workshops, or tours at the greenhouse.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Familiarity with various HR disciplines, including compliance with employment laws.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant laws and policies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the organization’s structure and practices.
  • Proficient time management skills with a track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Experience: 2-5 years in an HR coordinator or generalist role or office management position.

Work Environment:

  • Extended periods of sitting and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
