Job SummaryThis role is pivotal in facilitating the operations of the Human Resources (HR) department, specifically supporting the USG eCampus Human Resources team. As a subject matter expert, the incumbent will oversee various HR functions, including recruitment, employment processes, policy adherence, benefits management, onboarding, and data analysis. The primary focus will be on managing the lifecycle of eCampus employees, while also assisting the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) with additional responsibilities as needed.
Key ResponsibilitiesRecruitment, Hiring, and Onboarding (50%) -
- Oversee and update employee transactions within the HRIS to ensure accurate payroll and benefits.
- Conduct hiring processes, including background checks and compliance with employment regulations.
- Facilitate employee orientations and assist with benefits enrollment.
- Prepare offer letters for various employment changes.
- Maintain employee personnel files in accordance with record-keeping policies.
- Provide guidance on benefits-related inquiries, including FMLA, workers' compensation, and retirement.
- Counsel employees on HR policies and regulations.
- Assist in recruitment efforts by developing job descriptions and managing job postings.
- Train hiring managers on applicant tracking systems and processes.
- Conduct exit interviews and manage off-boarding procedures.
- Contribute to the development of departmental guidelines.
Benefits Administration (30%) -
- Process employee separations and notify relevant benefit administrators.
- Ensure verification of rehired retirees.
- Address inquiries related to unemployment claims.
- Monitor reports from the Shared Services Center.
- Assist with annual events such as open enrollment.
- Coordinate paperwork for FMLA and ADA accommodation requests.
Training and Additional Duties (20%) -
- Support HR initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other job-related responsibilities as needed.
- Maintain the HR webpage and online employee directory.
- Develop and deliver training related to human resources.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Other Required Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years in a human resources generalist role or similar position.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience within the University System of Georgia or higher education.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft HCM or similar systems.
- Knowledge of recruitment practices and applicant tracking systems.
- Understanding of federal and state employment laws.
- Familiarity with human resources principles and processes.
- Knowledge of recruitment and personnel file maintenance.
- Proficient in job-related software.
- Ability to collaborate effectively and maintain confidentiality.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
