Job Summary

This role is pivotal in facilitating the operations of the Human Resources (HR) department, specifically within the USG eCampus Human Resources team. The incumbent will act as a subject matter expert in various HR functions, including recruitment, employee transactions, policy adherence, benefits management, onboarding, and data reporting. The primary focus will be on managing the onboarding, off-boarding, recruitment, hiring, benefits, and performance management of eCampus personnel, alongside additional responsibilities as designated by the Chief Human Resources Officer.

Key Responsibilities

Recruitment, Hiring, and Onboarding (50%) -
Oversee and update all employee transactions in the HRIS to guarantee accurate compensation and benefits.
Conduct hiring processes, including background checks and compliance with employment verification requirements.
Facilitate employee orientations and assist with benefits enrollment.
Prepare offer letters for various employment changes.
Maintain personnel files to ensure compliance with record-keeping policies.
Provide guidance on benefits-related inquiries, including FMLA, workers' compensation, and retirement.
Advise employees on HR policies and procedures, ensuring understanding of employment laws and regulations.
Assist in recruitment efforts by developing job descriptions, posting openings, and managing the applicant tracking system.
Conduct off-boarding processes, including exit interviews.
Participate in the creation of departmental guidelines and procedures.

Benefits Administration (30%) -
Process employee separations and notify relevant retirement and benefits administrators.
Ensure verification of rehired retirees.
Respond to unemployment claims inquiries.
Assist in monitoring reports from the Shared Services Center.
Support annual events such as open enrollment and retiree receptions.
Coordinate paperwork for Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and ADA accommodation requests.

Training and Additional Duties (20%) -
Support MGA Human Resources initiatives as assigned.
Perform other job-related tasks as required.
Assist in maintaining the HR webpage and online employee directory.
Develop and deliver training related to human resources.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Other Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Required Experience:
A minimum of 3 years in a human resources generalist role or similar position.
At least 2 years of supervisory experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience:
Experience within the University System of Georgia or in higher education.
Familiarity with PeopleSoft HCM or similar systems.
Knowledge of recruitment practices and applicant tracking systems.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Comprehensive understanding of federal and state employment laws and regulations.
Strong grasp of human resources principles and processes.
Ability to work collaboratively and maintain confidentiality.
Excellent decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
