Position Overview:

The Media Monitoring Specialist is responsible for:

  • Tracking print media through platforms like Google and Feedly for relevant news regarding the department, its personnel, and the industries it regulates.
  • Monitoring television and radio broadcasts via TVEyes for pertinent updates about the department and its stakeholders.
  • Keeping an eye on social media channels for news related to the department and its regulated businesses.
  • Promptly alerting internal stakeholders of significant findings.
  • Compiling the weekly communications report to summarize media coverage.
  • Maintaining the Communications Division's master tracking document.
  • Creating and distributing newsletters using MailChimp.
  • Assisting with social media content creation, press releases, website updates, and other communication tasks as directed by the Communications Director.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedIn.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Georgia's agricultural landscape.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience in video editing and graphic design.
  • A bachelor's degree in political science, communications, or a related agricultural field.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
