Your New Role...
This pivotal leadership position in Corporate Accounting focuses on Equity Investments, Accounts Receivable Securitization, and various Corporate functions.

The role demands exceptional technical accounting expertise and the ability to make critical decisions regarding accounting practices to align with Warner Media's standards, ensuring compliance with US GAAP.

You will collaborate closely with auditors, senior executives, and the accounting policy team to navigate complex accounting challenges.

Your responsibilities will impact all Reporting Segments of Warner Media, including Studios, Direct-to-Consumer, Networks, and Corporate, with frequent interactions with senior leaders across Accounting, Finance, Corporate Development, Tax, Treasury, and Operations.

Key Responsibilities...
- Oversee the monthly close process, reviewing intricate entries and adjustments within the corporate accounting function.
- Focus on investments managed under the equity method and maintain ongoing communication with Accounting, Finance, Corporate Development, Tax, Treasury, and Operations.
- Manage the monthly accounting processes related to the Company's Accounts Receivable Securitization program, ensuring accurate reporting in collaboration with global business service teams.
- Maintain advanced technical accounting knowledge, providing decision support in evaluating complex accounting areas.
- Ensure effective financial controls, including ownership of SOX controls related to investments and financial asset management.
- Coordinate multiple close deadlines across various ERP systems, ensuring the functionality of financial controls and quarterly sign-offs on control effectiveness.
- Engage with external and internal auditors to assess controls and validate balances, overseeing timely balance sheet reconciliations and SEC supplemental schedules for disclosures.
- Offer accounting insights and support to senior Finance and Accounting leaders, including Corporate Executives and Segment CFOs.
- Foster collaborative communication with business partners while upholding integrity and compliance with accounting policies.
- Champion the Warner Media Controllership culture through active involvement in cross-departmental development and team-building initiatives.
- Provide leadership and guidance for ongoing Controllership improvement projects, including software implementations and process enhancements.
Qualifications & Experience...

A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience is required, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity. A strong grasp of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and SOX requirements is essential. Public accounting experience is preferred.

Candidates should possess a BS/BA in a related field from an accredited institution and hold a CPA designation. Strong technical accounting skills, along with the ability to interpret and apply accounting guidance to complex transactions, are crucial.

We seek self-motivated individuals with excellent problem-solving abilities, leadership qualities, and experience in process analysis and improvement. Strong multitasking skills and advanced analytical capabilities are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office.

Experience in investment and sale accounting treatment, as well as familiarity with SAP and budgeting/forecasting in the media industry, is a plus.
