Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY

The Employment Services Coordinator will play a vital role in managing State and Federally funded employment initiatives under the guidance of the Program Manager. This position focuses on facilitating employment opportunities for refugee clients, assisting them in achieving self-sufficiency through various employment-related activities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Deliver comprehensive case management and training aimed at enhancing employability and promoting self-sufficiency.
  • Craft individualized self-sufficiency plans tailored to each client's needs.
  • Facilitate referrals to agency services to eliminate barriers hindering self-sufficiency.
  • Maintain accurate case files and relevant databases to track client progress.
  • Prepare and submit written reports as necessary.
  • Provide cross-cultural insights and support to employers to foster inclusive hiring practices.
  • Guide refugee clients in navigating community resources effectively.
  • Connect clients with supportive community networks to ensure their successful integration.
  • Ensure services are delivered in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner, providing education and advocacy as needed.
  • Conduct assessments of clients' experiences, skills, and limitations to identify suitable job opportunities.
  • Assist clients with employment applications, interview preparations, and transportation arrangements.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, preferably in Human Services, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build partnerships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and relevant database applications.
  • A positive attitude with a good sense of humor, capable of thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the organization and a passion for supporting the success of a local nonprofit.
  • A valid driver's license, insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
  • Exhibit respect for confidentiality and an appreciation for a multicultural workplace.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

  • Successful completion of the organization's Orientation and Training program.
  • Engage in additional training as identified by the supervisor or Human Resources.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to perform manual dexterity tasks and maintain visual and auditory acuity.
  • Capability to engage in repetitive motions and sustain prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, along with bending and carrying tasks.
  • Basic mathematical skills for quantitative tasks.
