Job Summary

Mohawk Ambulance Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced EMS Educator - Certified Instructor Coordinator to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Mentoring: Provide exceptional training and mentoring to EMS staff to ensure exceptional provider performance and growth.
  • Learning and Development: Support learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Staff Training Coordination: Assist the Executive Director of Education in coordinating the creation and implementation of staff training.
  • Lab Session Instruction: Act as an instructor in lab sessions, teaching and modeling necessary hands-on skills to students.
  • Student Evaluation: Observe students in lab sessions to ensure each student is capable of independently completing each skill with proficiency.
  • Communication: Communicate essential information utilizing multiple methods, in order to meet each student's individual learning needs.
  • Student Attendance: Assist with coordinating and tracking student attendance.
  • Student Participation: Effectively manage student participation in each lab session.
  • Professional Development: Attend training sessions, conferences, and workshops as needed to remain knowledgeable within the Emergency Medical Services field.
Requirements
  • NYS CIC Certification: Possess a valid NYS CIC Certification.
  • NYS EMT or Paramedic Certification: Hold a valid NYS EMT or Paramedic Certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year experience acting as an instructor in the EMS field.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills: Proficiency in emergency medical and life-saving techniques, practices, and procedures.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to act with integrity and professionalism.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • American Heart Association Certification: Possess American Heart Association certified CPR Instructor certification.
  • ACLS and PALS Instructor: Hold ACLS and PALS Instructor certification.
  • REMO Protocols: Familiarity with REMO protocols.
  • Google Classroom: Proficient with using Google Classroom.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged Sitting: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry and balance up to 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance).
  • Accessibility: Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
