Position Overview

Senior Vice President, Engineering and Market Strategy

Mastercard Services is dedicated to acquiring, engaging, and retaining clients by managing fraud and risk, enhancing cybersecurity, and optimizing the digital payments experience while delivering value-added services through expertise, data-driven insights, and execution.

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer of Services, the Senior Vice President, Engineering and Market Strategy (SVP) will oversee engineering teams across the product spectrum for Business & Market Insights. Initially, these will encompass Business Intelligence, Locations, Operational Insights, Targeting Analytics, Test and Learn, Truata, Engines, and Trends.

Key Responsibilities

• Directs the development and implementation of the entire product area domain, spanning multiple programs with significant contributions to Mastercard Services.

• Accountable for comprehensive business management.

• P&L oversight; achieving revenue and expense objectives.

• Formulate a strategy to organically and inorganically expand the applications business while enhancing operational quality, discipline, and efficiency.

• Emphasize operational excellence in execution, effectiveness, and efficiency.

• Ensure alignment with overall Services, Technology, product, and regional teams regarding strategy, priorities, growth targets, and profit contributions.

• Cultivate and maintain relationships with potential clients, partners, and other key stakeholders at the executive level.

• Engage clients/partners in strategic discussions and collaborations covering the full spectrum of Mastercard assets, capabilities, and solutions while representing this business area as a technical authority.

• Establish and guide domain narratives to influence and negotiate with top industry leaders, governments, policymakers, and other stakeholders, both internally and externally, to drive industry-wide transformation and progress.

• Act as the expert and advocate for the business segment to identify and comprehend opportunities, challenges, and potential partner priorities to forge mutually beneficial partnerships/commercial relationships.

• Develop robust internal executive-level partnerships to ensure cross-functional alignment and maximum support.

• Provide ongoing and timely education to the broader team.

• Build and nurture a global team, defining and implementing the optimal engagement/support model, processes, and disciplines to position Mastercard's partnership model as a strategic differentiator.

Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise products driven by large-scale data and sophisticated models or a strong understanding of the Payments and/or Fintech sector.

• Proven track record in building and managing data-driven technology and innovation to achieve results.

• Demonstrated multi-disciplinary expertise, including product development, emerging technologies, business development, marketing, operations, risk management, etc.

• Ability to cultivate and sustain high-quality relationships at the executive level with clients/partners, government, and regulatory bodies.

• Thoughtfully align the team with overall strategic objectives in creating new products, methodologies, or operational approaches.

• Strong technical proficiency, including expert knowledge of relational and non-relational databases, cloud application development platforms, high-level programming languages, and software architecture design patterns.

• Comfortable managing budgeting and financial planning efforts, successfully achieving revenue and expense targets.

• Strong leadership and people management experience with a proven record of successfully managing large engineering teams.
