Position Overview:
The Vice President of Advancement Strategy is a highly experienced professional in the field of institutional fundraising, responsible for assisting the Executive Vice President and the Vice President of Advancement in executing a holistic approach to fundraising and alumni relations. This role involves close collaboration with senior leadership to ensure effective fundraising initiatives and robust alumni engagement. The Vice President will be instrumental in fostering a philanthropic culture within the university community.

Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Vice President include, but are not limited to:

Fundraising Development

  • Design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies, focusing on identifying, nurturing, and soliciting significant contributions from a curated list of prospects.
  • Oversee a portfolio of potential and returning donors, emphasizing contributions of $18,000 and above, with a target of a minimum of five personal meetings each month.
  • Facilitate the integration of the Graduway platform, acting as the primary liaison to ensure smooth implementation within the alumni program.
  • Provide strategic advice on fundraising activities to team members, collaborating to establish fundraising objectives in alignment with the university's advancement goals.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues to enhance donor and prospect event experiences, playing a key role in organizing high-profile fundraising events.
  • Significantly contribute to the development and execution of a digital marketing strategy, including online fundraising and direct outreach initiatives.

Alumni Relations

  • Identify and manage a targeted alumni database aimed at securing major gifts through a sustained engagement program.

Communications Strategy

  • Collaborate with the Communications and Marketing Department to develop impactful presentations for major gift donors.
  • Represent the institution at various events and public engagements as needed.

Administrative Leadership

  • Lead and inspire the Institutional Advancement team, promoting a collaborative and positive work environment.
  • Take charge of developing and managing budgets for fundraising and alumni initiatives.
  • Monitor and assess team performance against established objectives.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of fundraising strategies and methodologies.
  • Conduct thorough research on potential donors using available resources.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in fundraising, with a proven track record of securing major gifts of $100,000 and above.
  • Experience with Annual Alumni Funds across various educational institutions.
  • Demonstrated success in leading comprehensive advancement operations.
  • Experience in managing fundraising teams, volunteers, and major donor relationships.
  • Knowledge of advancement and alumni relations best practices is preferred.

Skills:

  • Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on team development and motivation.
  • Outstanding communication abilities for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficient in interacting effectively with a wide range of constituents, including donors and university leadership.
  • Strategic thinker with a history of achieving ambitious fundraising goals.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and fundraising database software, particularly Raisers Edge.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent computer use and the ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 5 lbs.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel may be necessary as part of the role.

Compensation:
Maximum Salary: USD $300,000.00/Yr.
Minimum Salary: USD $240,000.00/Yr.
