Position Overview

Hispanic Federation is in search of a proactive and committed Senior Vice President of Fundraising Strategy to collaborate closely with executive leadership in crafting robust and sustainable fundraising approaches. This role will involve the development and implementation of efficient workflows to enhance collaboration across departments, while also acting as a key advocate for our mission among funders, major contributors, and foundation representatives.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding and passion for the mission and vision of Hispanic Federation, embodying our core values. They will be adept at communicating our mission to potential donors in a manner that both informs and inspires generosity. Furthermore, the candidate should have a proven track record of achieving significant annual fundraising targets through diverse fundraising channels, experience in leading a skilled team of grant writers and fundraisers, and a comprehensive understanding of the systems essential for success in fundraising.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and enhance donor relationships and cultivation strategies, focusing on the existing donor pipeline.
  • Revise and innovate fundraising initiatives, developing a comprehensive strategy and execution plan that includes professional development for individual giving and major gifts.
  • Personally engage with a select group of major donors while coordinating the cultivation of new prospects; strategize on expanding major gifts, including the introduction of planned giving options.
  • Design fundraising strategies that incorporate impactful events and initiatives, showcasing the Federation's work and value.
  • Establish strong communication and recognition practices for donors and prospects to enhance the Federation's image.
  • Utilize board members to amplify fundraising outcomes and relationship-building efforts.
  • Oversee the identification of annual goals and objectives in collaboration with senior leadership, ensuring alignment with program leaders.
  • Support executive staff, board members, and volunteers in all aspects of donor engagement and stewardship.
  • Provide comprehensive analysis and reporting on fundraising performance relative to goals and strategic plans.
Revenue Generation: As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Senior Vice President of Fundraising Strategy will identify new avenues for expanding organizational funding from both charitable and earned sources, leading successful initiatives based on well-defined strategies.

Donor Engagement: This role will involve assessing and implementing best practices while creating a thorough donor relations plan to support organizational fundraising efforts. The Senior Vice President will address donor inquiries and requests, provide relevant program information to enhance donor awareness, and facilitate stewardship. Building and maintaining long-term relationships with donors will be essential, achieved through proactive communication regarding the outcomes and impacts of the Federation's initiatives.

Leadership and Team Development: The Senior Vice President will oversee and mentor the Development team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation. This role will contribute to the organization's growth through team development and will participate in senior leadership discussions and Board decisions.

Communications and Branding: Collaborating with the Vice President for Development and the Senior Vice President for Institutional Development, the Senior Vice President will help formulate a communications strategy that supports all fundraising and program efforts. They will ensure that the organization's values, policies, and practices are effectively communicated to funders and major donors, maintaining brand standards across all platforms.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of eight (8) years of progressive fundraising and development experience in leadership roles. A Master's degree is preferred.
  • Certification from the Association of Fundraising Professionals (ACFRE) or Certified Fundraising Executives (CFRE) is highly desirable.
  • Proven success in meeting or exceeding measurable fundraising goals within a nonprofit context.
  • Extensive experience managing all facets of fundraising, including high-net-worth individuals, foundation and corporate relations, online outreach, and direct mail campaigns.
  • Proficient in budget creation and revenue forecasting for the fiscal year.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in fundraising applications and donor data analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a geographically dispersed team, fostering collaboration and motivation.
  • Experience leveraging social media and technology to engage donors and promote the mission.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a strong fundraising acumen and a passion for connecting individuals with our mission.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on active listening and persuasive messaging.
  • Flexibility and creativity in addressing challenges and opportunities.

Compensation

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, flexible spending options, and a 403(b) retirement plan with organizational matching after six months of service.
