Warriors Recruiting is seeking a skilled Accountant to enhance our client's financial team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional analytical and communication abilities, thriving in a collaborative environment. Experience in government accounting is essential, while familiarity with Deltek Costpoint is advantageous.

The Accountant will play a vital role in delivering expertise in finance, accounting, and compliance for various contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and update financial records by executing tasks such as documenting and posting transactions in journals and the general ledger for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
  • Oversee debt levels and ensure adherence to debt covenants.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for all bank, loan, and credit card accounts.
  • Perform periodic audits of accounts to verify accuracy.
  • Generate financial statements and compile reports detailing cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable and receivable, balance sheets, profit and loss, and other relevant operational items.
  • Prepare information for external auditors during annual audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements.
  • Facilitate payment processing for accounts.

General Duties:

  • Lead payroll functions, including monitoring timesheets and processing payroll.
  • Determine operational costs by establishing standard costs and collecting relevant data.
  • Assess financial status by comparing actual results with planned forecasts.
  • Guide the cost analysis process by developing policies and procedures, providing trends and forecasts, and recommending actions.
  • Enhance financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, and advising management.
  • Reconcile transactions by verifying and correcting data.
  • Develop automated accounting applications to streamline processes.
  • Safeguard operations by maintaining confidentiality of financial information.
  • Stay updated on technical knowledge through educational workshops and publications.

Contract and Compliance Oversight:

  • Monitor contract values and CLINs to ensure accurate cost collection and reporting.
  • Track subcontract costs, schedule status, material receipts, open commitments, and termination liabilities.
  • Engage with federal government contract audit and administration personnel.
  • Lead responses to audit requests regarding billing, labor, purchasing, estimating systems, and indirect costs.
  • Support responses for Cost Accounting Standards and Incurred Cost Submissions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience with enterprise-level accounting software; Deltek Costpoint experience is a plus.
  • Government accounting experience and at least 4 years of Accounting/GAAP expertise are required.
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial software applications.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills; ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with GSA pricing schedules and CAS compliance requirements is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Federal Government Contracting, Bidding Processes, Cost Proposals, and accounting systems is beneficial.
