POSITION SUMMARY

The Financial Reporting Specialist will oversee the financial records and reporting for various legal entities within the organization. This pivotal role will engage with numerous stakeholders and collaborate closely with the Finance Manager and Controller to enhance and optimize financial processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to:

  • Documenting daily banking activities and ensuring that invoices for electronic payments are properly recorded.
  • Recording credit card transactions and managing receipt uploads to the accounting system.
  • Assisting with financial close processes and generating relevant reports.
  • Managing stop payments for checks as necessary.
  • Implementing and refining monthly closing procedures and conducting regular monthly closes.
  • Supporting the preparation for financial audits.
  • Creating lead schedules and roll-forwards for financial reporting.
  • Preparing weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Making necessary journal entries.
  • Reconciling all general ledger accounts.
  • Reconciling bank and credit card statements.
  • Coordinating the completion of all monthly closing checklist items.
  • Preparing schedules for special analyses.
  • Developing amortization schedules.
  • Maintaining organized electronic files for the accounting department.
  • Performing accounts payable entries.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
  • Serving as a backup for the accounts payable function.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a General Ledger Accountant is essential.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work independently while being a supportive team member.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including proficiency in basic arithmetic operations.
  • Advanced Excel skills are required.
  • Intermediate understanding of fundamental accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and enhance professional skills.
  • Experience in auditing is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online is preferred.
  • Experience with Brightree is a significant plus.
  • Background in the healthcare sector is highly desirable.
