Position Overview:
We are in search of a proficient Construction Financial Specialist to manage financial operations specific to construction initiatives.
This position is vital for maintaining precise financial records, analyzing costs, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to industry regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid grasp of construction accounting principles and experience collaborating with project management teams.Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage all financial activities related to construction projects.
Track project costs, budgets, and expenditures throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare and evaluate financial statements, reports, and forecasts for construction projects.
Conduct cost analysis and variance analysis to pinpoint areas for improvement and efficiency.
Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable related to construction contracts.
Work closely with project managers to deliver financial insights and support decision-making.
Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations concerning construction accounting.
Reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entries as necessary.
Assist in the preparation of bids, proposals, and financial models for upcoming projects.
Participate in audits and provide necessary documentation and support.
Experience and Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required; CPA certification is advantageous.
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction accounting or a related field.
Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, including job costing and revenue recognition.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 300 Construction, Procore) and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Experience with financial reporting for construction projects is preferred.
