Position Overview

Role Summary:

The Senior Account Manager is tasked with overseeing all software sales initiatives for Ansys products, encompassing the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals within a designated geographic area or specific accounts. This role is crucial for driving sales profitability, enhancing revenue growth, and deepening account engagement within the assigned territory. Responsibilities include both acquiring new clients and nurturing existing customer relationships.

Work Environment: Full-time position based at the Tempe headquarters.

Location Requirement: Arizona (with a preference for candidates in the Phoenix metropolitan area).

Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct sales activities aimed at generating new business and renewing existing contracts within the assigned region to meet or exceed revenue targets.
  • Build and sustain mutually beneficial relationships with both current and potential clients to foster new software sales opportunities and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a consistent schedule of communication with clients and prospects through phone calls and in-person visits throughout the designated territory.
  • Collaborate with internal technical teams to identify client challenges and key business objectives, creating compelling ROI-focused proposals and quotes that align with client needs.
  • Research and compile lists of potential clients through various channels, including sales leads, online research, and industry events, utilizing tools like LinkedIn Navigator and ZoomInfo for effective prospecting.
  • Stay informed about PADT's product offerings to proactively inform clients about enhancements and new capabilities, driving opportunity creation.
  • Coordinate sales efforts with cross-functional teams, including Sales Management, Accounting, Engineering Services, and Marketing, to support trade shows and training initiatives that promote new business opportunities.
  • Regularly update sales data in the PADT SFDC system (and Ansys SFDC as necessary) to maintain accurate sales records, forecast revenues, and prepare territory and account sales reports as needed.

Qualifications:

The following qualifications are essential for this role:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or a degree complemented by technical sales experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in software licensing and renewal sales, demonstrating a successful track record.
  • Military experience is valued.

Minimum Skills:

  • Basic understanding of the industrial product development process, including CAD, Design Analysis, PLM, or Engineering Simulation markets.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with visual presentation capabilities suitable for executive audiences.
  • Proven ability to cultivate and expand customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated success in increasing company revenue.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Simulation (Ansys) products and software pricing strategies is advantageous.
  • A history of successfully closing innovative business deals within industrial sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, and High Tech is preferred.
  • Five years of field sales experience is desirable.
