Position: Freight Carrier Account Executive

The Freight Carrier Account Executive plays a pivotal role in nurturing relationships with our primary partners—our carriers. This position involves negotiating rates and terms for freight transportation, all while delivering outstanding service to enhance business growth. An effective Account Executive will apply sound judgment and discretion to manage and resolve all facets of freight logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Secure and negotiate with carriers to facilitate the timely and cost-effective movement of freight, while fostering essential partnerships.
  • Customer Growth: Deliver consistent and exceptional service to both carriers and internal stakeholders to drive pipeline growth and expand future capacity.
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and enhance carrier relationships through proactive outreach, including lead generation and networking.
  • Freight Operations: Analyze carrier performance and market conditions to effectively meet customer freight requirements, ensuring on-time service and clear communication.
  • Results Orientation: Meet and exceed monthly sales margin targets while ensuring carrier service levels and key performance indicators are achieved.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain proactive communication with carriers and sales teams to fulfill commitments and resolve any issues related to shipments and deliveries.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in inside sales or account management is advantageous.
  • Ability to excel in a dynamic environment and meet established performance metrics.
  • Strong negotiation capabilities, including persuasiveness and resilience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
