Position Overview:


This is a field-oriented sales position aimed at educating the eye care sector regarding GA and promoting Izervay for suitable patients in a compliant manner.

The role requires a comprehensive understanding of the business dynamics within the assigned territory to effectively educate, support, and influence a diverse range of eye care professionals, including retinal specialists, comprehensive ophthalmologists, optometrists, and practice personnel.

A motivated sales professional who takes ownership of outcomes as if they were their own enterprise. The ideal candidate will balance strategic flexibility with tactical execution to achieve business objectives while prioritizing patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Drive sales performance for Izervay within the designated territory to meet or exceed sales targets.

Contribute to a successful launch trajectory for Izervay and consistently achieve sales growth expectations over time.


Develop, collaborate on, and execute territory strategies that accurately identify and prioritize activities to achieve both short- and long-term sales objectives.

Maintain regular communication with the Regional Business Director to report on business outcomes.


Collaborate with cross-functional field teams to cultivate and enhance relationships with key decision-makers in GA treatment, including physicians, support staff, and administrators, to address their needs and provide solutions.

Lead and facilitate educational initiatives with Astellas partners.

Acquire and demonstrate a robust clinical understanding of ophthalmology and retina to ensure a valuable partnership with Astellas' clientele.


Promote a high-performance team culture by sharing knowledge, experiences, and insights, acting as a peer influencer to support others in achieving success.

Meet all administrative business standards and expectations, including budget management, reporting, and communication.

Adhere to compliance and operational principles and expectations of Astellas.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree

5+ years of experience in specialty pharmaceutical or biotech sales

Experience in ophthalmology, particularly in retina, is preferred

Familiarity with Buy and Bill processes is advantageous

Proven track record of strong sales performance

Understanding of business drivers and regulations within the healthcare sector

Ability to utilize active listening, probing, and other sales techniques to enhance communication and influence key customers

Skills in building and maintaining professional relationships with key customers and office staff, as well as others in the customer influence network

Excellent written and verbal communication skills; exceptional presentation and facilitation abilities are required

None

Additional Skills & Abilities:


This role is field-based within a designated territory, reporting to a specific Regional Business Director within the sales team.

Overnight travel (25%-50%) may be necessary based on the business requirements of the territory and is geographically dependent.

This position may also require occasional travel to the corporate office.

Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills

Ability to take initiative and work with minimal supervision

Exhibits a high level of professionalism and a collaborative approach to teamwork

Maintains confidentiality and exercises professional judgment

A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Astellas' policy requirements are necessary.

Salary Range:
$138,000 - $185,000

Note:
Final salary may vary based on experience.
