Position Overview:
The Life Science Research Associate I will join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing our understanding of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), a complex and challenging condition. This is a fixed-term position aimed at contributing to significant research efforts in the field.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop experimental strategies to support ongoing research initiatives, utilizing a solid foundation in scientific principles.
• Execute experiments independently while meticulously documenting methodologies and results.
• Analyze experimental data and collaborate with senior researchers to refine protocols and enhance research outcomes.
• Stay updated with the latest scientific literature to integrate new techniques and insights into ongoing projects.
• Assist in the preparation of research findings for publication, including drafting procedures, presentations, and proposals.
• Maintain laboratory organization, including inventory management and compliance with safety protocols.
• Support the onboarding and training of new team members in laboratory practices and techniques.

Compensation:
The anticipated hourly wage for this role ranges from $25.48 to $36.53, reflecting the university's commitment to equitable compensation based on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, immunology, or a related discipline is required.
• A minimum of six months of laboratory experience is preferred, with familiarity in antibody characterization and protein biochemistry being advantageous.
• Knowledge of chronic illnesses and mitochondrial dysfunction is desirable.
• Proficiency in relevant laboratory techniques, including SEC-HPLC and immunoassays, is preferred.
• Strong skills in data analysis using Microsoft Excel are essential.

• Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems in a laboratory setting.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in documenting experiments.
• Competence in utilizing computer applications and databases for scientific research.
• Capability to work efficiently under deadlines with minimal supervision.
