InsideHigherEd is seeking a Life Science Research Professional 2 to contribute to innovative research initiatives within a collaborative laboratory environment.

This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in teamwork settings, possess strong problem-solving abilities, and excel in effective communication. As a member of the research team, you will engage in a variety of scientific tasks, including but not limited to cell culture, molecular biology methodologies, and flow cytometry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent research experiments and tasks
  • Analyze and interpret experimental results, adjusting protocols as necessary
  • Assist in the preparation and dissemination of research publications
  • Oversee laboratory operations, budget management, and adherence to safety protocols
  • Mentor and support fellow team members

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline
  • Expertise in molecular biology techniques
  • Experience with tissue culture, microscopy, and flow cytometry
  • Strong organizational capabilities and attention to detail in record keeping
  • Familiarity with high-throughput sequencing and sample processing

Education & Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a scientific field complemented by relevant professional experience or a Master's degree.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Comprehensive understanding of scientific methodologies
  • Proficiency in computer software and data management systems
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail

Working Conditions:

  • Potential exposure to pathogens and hazardous materials
  • Personal protective equipment usage is mandatory
  • Extended working hours may occasionally be required

The compensation for this role ranges from $71,000 to $88,000 annually, accompanied by a comprehensive benefits package.
