General Purpose of the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA): The Certified Nurse Aide is responsible for delivering personal care and incidental daily living activities for patients across various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and other healthcare facilities. They perform care tasks and delegated responsibilities as outlined in the nursing care plan and under the supervision of nursing staff, in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements for Certified Nurse Aide (CNA):

  • Assist patients with personal hygiene, grooming, and comfort needs, including toileting, bathing, skin care, and oral hygiene.
  • Implement infection control practices, such as proper hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Monitor and report on the patient's condition to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and staff.
  • Support patients with mobility, transfers, and range of motion exercises.
  • Conduct patient-related procedures, including measuring and documenting vital signs, blood glucose levels, and other health indicators.
  • Administer non-medicated treatments, such as enemas, dressings, and therapeutic baths, as directed.
  • Ensure the safe application and monitoring of physical restraints when necessary.
  • Adhere to the established Plan of Care for each client.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, along with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant course and certification as mandated by state regulations.
  • Students in their final year of nursing school or unlicensed RN/LPN/LVN graduates may qualify for employment as a Nurse Aide, subject to state law.
  • One year of experience in a similar role or as required by the contracted facility.
  • Experience in Home Care or Hospice settings is preferred.
  • Proof of COVID vaccination is required.
