General Responsibilities of the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA): The Certified Nurse Aide is tasked with delivering personal care and support for daily living activities to patients across various settings, including hospitals and nursing facilities. This role involves executing care plans and tasks as directed by nursing staff or supervisors, in accordance with facility policies and state regulations.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements for Certified Nurse Aide (CNA):

  • Ensures the patient's personal hygiene, grooming, and comfort, including assistance with toileting, bathing, and oral care.
  • Adheres to infection control protocols, including proper hand hygiene and use of protective equipment.
  • Observes and communicates changes in the patient's condition to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Collaborates with team members to provide effective care and support to patients and staff.
  • Assists with mobility, transfers, and exercises to promote physical well-being.
  • Conducts patient-related tasks such as monitoring vital signs, documenting intake and output, and collecting specimens.
  • Administers non-medicated treatments and assists with therapeutic procedures as needed.
  • Follows the established Plan of Care for each client.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School diploma or equivalent, along with successful completion of a Nursing Assistant course and certification as mandated by state regulations.
  • Students in their final year of nursing school or recent graduates may qualify for this position under state laws.
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role or as required by the facility.
  • Experience in Home Care or Hospice settings is preferred.
  • Proof of COVID vaccination is required.
