Job Summary

Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Austin seeks a highly skilled Education Manager to lead our educational initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine and develop short-term and long-term educational goals based on needs identified through Quality Council, Annual Assessments, and specific training needs assessments.
  • Oversee the development, planning, and coordination of general hospital orientation, collaborating with various department heads to include their specialty area.
  • Create and maintain specific orientation modules for new IP, new RN, and new LVN.
  • Develop and administer education operating budget.
  • Manage planning and coordination of continuing and in-service education for the hospital.
  • Manage development, planning, and coordination of periodic in-service training on issues identified by the Hospital Quality Council or a designated Performance Improvement Team.
  • Serve as a member of the Hospital Quality Council.
  • Promote adherence to the Company's Code of Business Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Agreement by monitoring employee performance and identifying and responding to compliance issues.
  • Ensure that the hospital's employees receive compliance training and all education necessary to perform their job responsibilities, as required by the Company's Code of Business Conduct and the Corporate Compliance Agreement. Track training status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or other healthcare-related field. Master's degree in nursing or a healthcare-related field preferred. Additional state requirements as applicable. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.
  • Appropriate state licensure for clinical specialty.
  • BCLS and ACLS certifications. Clinical Nurse Specialist Preferred.
  • Minimum of one year experience as clinical preceptor or management experience required. Minimum five years' experience in an acute care Medical/Surgical and/or ICU/CCU setting.
