Peer Academic Coaching Program Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Peer Academic Coaching Program Coordinator. This position is responsible for managing all elements of the Peer Academic Coaching initiative aimed at supporting students in their academic journey.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; enrollment in a Master's program in College Student Development is preferred.
  • Experience in academic or student services is advantageous.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor college students effectively.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
  • Capability to independently manage tasks and collaborate within a team environment.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting undergraduate students is necessary.
  • Familiarity with migrant educational programs is a plus.
  • Flexibility in working hours is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and co-supervise a skilled team of undergraduate Peer Academic Coaches.
  • Provide support to Peer Academic Coaches working with first-year students.
  • Create training materials and presentations for Peer Coaches.
  • Conduct initial training sessions at the start of the semester and ongoing monthly training.
  • Meet one-on-one with Peer Coaches to help them develop tailored learning strategies for their mentees.
  • Collaborate closely with professional staff to monitor student progress.
  • Organize regular meetings for Peer Academic Coaches to foster communication and development.
  • Maintain comprehensive program records, including attendance and student progress notes.
  • Monitor the time and effort of Peer Coaches to ensure accountability.
  • Conduct continuous needs assessments to identify areas for program enhancement.
  • Administer evaluations to Peer Coaches to measure program effectiveness and suggest improvements.
