Peer Academic Coaching Program Coordinator

We are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Peer Academic Coaching Program Coordinator. This position is responsible for managing all elements of the Peer Academic Coaching initiative, aimed at enhancing the academic success of students.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; enrollment in a Master's program in College Student Development is preferred.
  • Experience in academic or student services is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with supervising undergraduate students is essential.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting undergraduate students is crucial.
  • Knowledge of migrant educational programs is beneficial.
  • Flexibility in working hours is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, hire, train, and co-supervise a skilled team of undergraduate Peer Academic Coaches.
  • Provide support to Peer Academic Coaches working with first-year students.
  • Create training materials and presentations for Peer Coaches.
  • Conduct initial training sessions at the start of the semester and ongoing monthly training.
  • Meet individually with Peer Coaches to help them develop tailored learning strategies for their mentees.
  • Collaborate closely with professional staff to monitor student progress.
  • Organize regular meetings for Peer Academic Coaches to discuss strategies and share experiences.
  • Maintain accurate program records, including attendance and notes on student development.
  • Monitor the time and efforts of Peer Coaches.
  • Conduct ongoing assessments to identify areas for program enhancement.
  • Administer evaluations to Peer Coaches to measure program effectiveness and suggest improvements.
