Position:
Lead Chemical Process Engineer

Compensation:
$130,000 - $185,000

JOB OVERVIEW:


This role encompasses responsibilities as a project leader, senior process engineer, and process supervisor, focusing on the creation of fundamental process design packages, studies, or technical proposals.

The candidate should possess the capability to oversee multiple projects concurrently and demonstrate expertise across a wide array of the company's technologies and standard process units.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


As the project leader, the individual will oversee the development of process documentation and studies, ensuring adherence to timelines and the fulfillment of project scope in line with company standards and policies.

The project leader will maintain the quality of relationships with clients and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.


In the capacity of a Senior Engineer, the individual will engage in the development of process simulations, equipment specifications, PFDs, and P&IDs, along with other deliverables, ensuring their verification and approval, while also mentoring and training junior engineers.


As part of the Engineering Team, the individual will contribute to various specialized tasks such as technology enhancements, methods development, and support for the preparation of technical proposals or assistance to the Technical Service teams.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering

Master's degree is an advantage

Experience:

A minimum of 15 years in the refining or petrochemical sector

Proven track record of leading projects as a Senior Engineer and/or Project Manager, while supervising less experienced engineers.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Strong foundation in chemical engineering principles.

Proficient in process simulation modeling tools (Pro II), including troubleshooting capabilities.

Comprehensive understanding of process equipment design, including reactor internals.

Ability to lead technical discussions with clients and contractors.

Experience in grassroots and revamping project management from both technical and organizational perspectives.

Knowledge of safety methodologies and reviews (Process Hazards Analysis, Layers of Protection Analysis, etc.), including safeguarding measures.

Experience with plant modifications and the Management of Change process.

Understanding of project economics.
